National Paralympic Committee Nepal

The National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Nepal (formerly known as National Para Sports Association (NPSA) – Nepal) has been as a regular basis working for the disabled sports in the country since its inception in 2000. On April 2004, the former organization named NPSAl was recognized by International Paralympic Committee (IPC) as the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Nepal which enabled NPSA in the name of NPC Nepal to make the historical participation for the first time ever to the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games, an Olympic Games of the Disabled, held in 17-28 September 2004. After words, it made participation of Athletes with disabilities in Beijing Paralympic Games.

This NPC is the highest national body responsible for Nepal's elite athletes with a disability to international participation. It is responsible for selecting and sending the Nepalese team to participate
in the Paralympic and its sanctioned Games. It also deciminates information about disability sports, and promotes research, conduct training, organizes seminars, workshops and also organizes national championship and so on to enhance and develop of paralympic sports in Nepal.

The NPC is always standing for awareness of the Paralympic Games as an elite sports competition and it also it also encourages young athletes with disabilities to test their limits in sport and to promote cross-cultural communication between disabled athletes. It promotes clean, fair sport as per developing under the code of conduct and direction of IPC and its constitution.

Vision: To enhance the level of Paralympic Movement to the international standard and to develop professionalism in the disability sports in the country.
